So long Sidekick.. Your time was appreciated..

Now I wonder what TMO will have to offer the deaf community..

Blackberries and Androids are excellent phones for the deaf community.

It would be nice if T-Mobile offered a special REALLY cheap data/text plan only that would just be for deaf consumers. I don't know if they already do that and I'm not aware of it, but still, that would be cool.

That's what I meant, there was a voice barred sidekick plan that they could get (and if they provided the proper documents there would be no tax). They need to do that for the other devices out there, cause not only do they want to text, they want the data services too..

Sidekicks aren't dead yet! HTC will be the manufacture of the new T-Mobile Sidekick Twist. They are dropping the Danger OS for a custom build of Android with Sense.

Microsoft Kin may be the new generation of sidekick. Miss the old days of prepaid sidekick.

Does anyone know if you can still activate sidekick prepaid?

Yes, get a prepaid account, and the option for Sidekick $1/day unlimited data/messaging is still there.

Note that T-Mobile closed the loophole that allows this plan to work on non-Sidekick devices.

Microsoft investment becomes trash again ...

Is this really a surprise, i would not be surprised if the death of sidekick was because of the KIN line, and that failed too...

I was thinking about the loophole. I heard that people still be able to use sidekick on non-sidekick device.

T-Mobile blocked that prepad SK data loophole for a lot phones, like the iPhone. When I had an iPhone, I was using on it that plan but then it got blocked when the loophole was closed. I can't say for other phones but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't work.
